GEEWAN: Home of Bicolano Dishes

So this summer, my family went for a vacation in Bicol. A 15-hour drive form San Jose, Nueva Ecija to Pili, Camarines Sur. It's quite a drive, huh?

Honestly, I didn't enjoy the ride. It was bumpy and bone-shaking, really uncomfortable ride. Or maybe it was just our driver who was driving us crazy? I din't know. Screw him if that's the case. Haha! Unlike our last year's trip to Ilocos, roads were smooth and very comfortable to drive. But here, it was totally messed up.  Lot of roads and highways were being built. Oops! I forgot. Eleksyon nga pala ngayon

Well, all of these went away after I tried wake-boarding. Of course, it's the best thing here in Camarines Sur. You surely didn't want to miss this!

And for the record, I finished 1 and a half laps. Not bad for a first timer, I guess.

Finally, we found you. Don't you dare disappoint us especially me, I got high expectations from you! At higit sa lahat, GUTOM AKO, masama ako ma-disappoint pag gutom.

COCOL @ Milka Krem

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

So, how many calories you guys had over the Holiday?

Compute compute!

Yeah I know, it's really hard to know. Because of the non-stop "kain-dito-kain-doon" celebration, it's really hard to monitor how much food you consumed. No one does, even a Math teacher can't. Maybe some people who are depriving themselves from the Holiday Season. For God sake, it's Christmas time! Stop dieting! :)

And honestly yes, I still have a Holiday hang over. *burp*

It's my second time here at Milka Krem. The first time I was with my friends, and the second time which is today I was with my Mama. Oo naman para libre!

Here's there Menu:

Some dairy products freshly made just for you!
(Fresh Milk, Flavored Milk, Yogurt Drink, Cheese, Pastillas)

Yes, I assure you guys that they really serve only fresh and natural products. It's because their factory is just right behind this store. Wise, isn't it?

Trying Southeast Asian Cuisine @ Banana Leaf

Are you guys craving for some modern Malaysian, Singaporean, Thai, Indian, Vietnamese, and Indonesian cuisine? Good! Coz I've got a nice place for you.

BANANA LEAF ASIAN CAFE
Greenhills Promenade, G/F
(02) 706 3888

Good thing we're in Greenhills last Friday, me and Mama, we just bought some appraisal equipments for our newly planned business. But before doing our real business there, we first had our lunch. We're both craving for some Asian cuisine, so I suggested Banana Leaf. Talking like an expert but no, it's also my first time. :)

For starters, we had Tom Yam Kung soup (Php 198). The spicy-ness of the soup is just right for me, actually I like the sweet and spicy taste of it. Plus my favorite shrimp and mushroom, it's just perfect!

Chicken Satay (Php 128) - Boneless chicken on sticks with curry paste. I didn't like it with the curry paste, I prefer eating the chicken plain.

Thai Iced Tea (Php 85) - Definitely one of the best! I missed S.R. Thai's iced tea, it's my favorite.

Yeung Chow Rice (Php 168) - Of course, it won't be complete without our favorite rice.

Half Hainanese Chicken (Php 298) - Isn't it obvious that we love chicken? Haha. It's a steamed chicken meat with a special sauce adding a very unique taste of garlic and Szechwan. Besides from its sauce, they also provide 3 different sauces. But I only tried the black sauce that tasted like barbecue. However, Mama tried it all and she all loved it.

Sago Pudding in Thai Pandan Leaf (Php 80) - Wow! This is genius,  a very Asian kind of dessert, man. You better try this one out, trust me.

Happy eating!

16th FAVE EATS: S&R New York Cheesecake

Wow! Just like that and it's November already. Christmas is really fast approaching, coming in like a snap of a finger. And what I am excited about Christmas, of course aside from the gifts and aguinaldos I'm going to receive haha, is the non-stop eating of sinful lechon and hamon

And also don't forget my favorite queso de bola which is for me the star of Noche Buena.

 S&R NEW YORK CHEESECAKE
(Php 99)

Gulat kayo? Yeah, it's only Php 99. I know it's cheap for a cheesecake but trust me on this, it's really good. Although I didn't like much the bottom crust of the cake coz it tastes a bit dusty (parang madumi sa bibig haha), I still devoured the whole thing in no time.

15th FAVE EATS: S&R's Pizza Combo

Are you an Italian wannabe who likes to eat pizza, pasta, and calzone?

Or are you loyal to Pinoy spaghetti, pancit palabok, and pancit Malabon?

Well, maybe it's time to bring out the Nicolas Cage and Al Pacino in you!

S&R NY STYLE PIZZA COMBO
(Php 549)

Are you guys ready for the big, big, big, I mean BIG SURPRISE?

(Yeah, I know, it's already half; I really can't control myself eating)

This pizza combo consists of beef, pepperoni, olives, onion, green bell-pepper, mozzarella cheese and other cheeses. Looks so simple, yeah, but it's not your ordinary pizza. It's so big, trust me, yet it's so affordable for only Php 549/ whole.

I ask them to cut my pizza in 12 slices, although we're only 3 who'll gonna eat this, and still a single slice is big enough for a single meal (not of course with my oh-so big tummy). The pizza is also topped generously, with lots of pepperoni and cheese which I really enjoy eating. Also the taste of the crust can be boastful for your last bite to your pizza. So delicioso!

And what's really crazy about this pizza is this mayonnaise! It's not only catsup or hot sauce but also with mayo this time.

Gross? Uh-uh! Yeah, at first I was like "No way! Mayo on pizza? WTF!" But when I try it, hell yeah for it's heavenly goodness! You better try it yourself and find out what it really tastes like.

14th FAVE EATS: Crema de Fruta @ Edna's Bakeshop

Wow! It's been raining all day today. Non-stop. Is it really like this during Christmas season, pouring rain, rain and rain? Is it uso to have typhoons during Ber-months? Or is it just because of the global warming? Poor us.

Anyway, just a short story about my on-the-job appraisal training. I've been learning so much about jewelry appraisal techniques and operations. I'm enjoying this, really.

Okay, I'm done. I told you, it's only short. And another super short thing, I still have a badminton tournament to catch up tomorrow and please if you happen to read this post after I published it, please include me in your good-night prayers for me to win or to just play well tomorrow. Thank you, I appreciate it. :)

13th FAVE EATS: Nai Cha @ Chowking

Hey. Hey. Hey! Guess who's back?

Wow! I missed you guys. I've been so busy this past week coz I'm already having my on-the-job appraisal training in Muñoz City, NE. And I can't find extra time on blogging, but don't you worry my fellow bloggers, I read all your posts (of course, only to those blogs I follow). Okay, this one's getting longer, I must stop now.

Okay please, don't believe this picture it's deceiving us. This one is for promotional purposes only, this isn't the real deal here.

And this is the real one. See the difference? It's always konti sa totoong buhay. Kaya wag kang maniwala sa picture, niloloko lang tayo nyan.

12th FAVE EATS: Iced Salted Caramel Mocha

On the second to the last day of my appraisal training, I got a chance to go out and celebrate a night with my cousin, Yasmin. Shame on me of thinking twice whether to leave that night or to just stay at my cousin's condo and rest. Buti na lang at sinipag ako

We just watched a comedy movie which I honestly enjoyed that I kept on laughing and laughing 'til the end of the show. Yeah, but not to mention the title 'coz it's a bit embarrassing, ang corny eh pero natawa naman ako. So please understand.

Oh well that's only an introduction to my post. Sorry.

Iced Salted Caramel Mocha (Php 160, Grande)
@ Starbucks, Greenbelt 3

It's Starbucks' latest coffee-based drink. I think it was only last September when they released this, I'm not sure. Caramel mocha whether it's iced, hot, or blended coffee, it's one of their signature drinks. But this salted one was new.

11th FAVE EATS: Angel's Meal @ Heaven's Barbeque

In my 1 week stay here in Makati for my appraisal training, every night is a "pahirapan-kung-saan-kakain" night for us. So last Wednesday night, my cousin and I decided to eat at the nearest street with food trip-ings, in Malugay Street.

If you haven't had any idea where it is located, go Google it (just kidding haha). It's along Buendia Ave/ Gil Puyat Ave in Makati.

9th FAVE EATS: Devil's Mocha Cake @ Figaro

Okay, this is really unforgivable! It's been 4 boring days having no Internet connection from that fucking Digitel Telecom. Yeah, fine, I get it, you're finally dissolving your turtle-like connection. Thank you for that, or should I better thank the PLDT for  buying your needless company & making this clever decision possible. Adios sa wakas!

Okay, enough for the complaints, respect to that controversial Cybercrime Prevention Act, so I rest my case. (I shut up)

DEVIL'S MOCHA CAKE
(P119.00)
@ Figaro, Greenbelt 3

I must admit, this is one of the best mocha cake I've ever tasted. I'm not really a fan of mocha or chocolate cakes, I usually go for my favorite cheesecake, (Oreo, strawberry, blueberry, New York, anything basta cheesecake) but this one really goes to my liking.

8th FAVE EATS: Kraft Instant Mac & Cheese

I love cheese. I can live just eating cheese everyday. I mean, I CAN LIVE in just eating this panis na gatas araw-araw. Seryoso ako, kaya ko un. This is my ultimate comfort food at all times. Mapa-mainit man ang panahon o mapa-lamig man yan, cheese ang karamay ko sa lahat ng pagkakataon. Ang cheesy ko no?

7th FAVE EATS: Beef Salpicao, Certified US Angus Beef

It's Saturday night and we're here again on our favorite family dine-in restaurant in San Jose, Old 37. Yeah, dito na naman kami. Well sorry to say this but, wala naman kasi kami ibang choice. Kaya it's better to eat and eat here, all over and over, again and again dahil masarap naman ung food dito kesa naman ma-disappoint pa and unsatisfied lang kami sa iba, mas maganda na ung subok na namin. And so, we're here!

Beef Salpicao (Certified US Angus Beef), P259.00 (more or less)

(Again, sorry for the poor and shit-y quality of this scrumptious entrée I'm no expert in photography)

6th FAVE EATS: Dragon Fruit

It's just recently that I got addicted to these dragon fruits, eh wala naman siyang lasa. Basta masarap lang siyang kainin, period. No other explanation needed.

This one is the white dragon fruit.

And this one is the red dragon fruit

At dahil maulan sa mga nakakaraang araw, I will give you guys a very Pinoy na Pinoy merienda. O eto na mainit-init pa. Please give a warm round of applause for Ate Elvie's SOPAS! Woohoo. . .

4th FAVE EATS: Sweet 'n Sour Lapu-Lapu ni Manang

My 2nd post for today. I can't wait for tomorrow to post this. May kasabihan nga tayo na, "Kung kaya mong gawin ngayon, eh di gawin mo na." So that famous kasabihan inspires me to write this down now.

This seafood is my second ultimate favorite (of course, sugpo is on top of my list).

Sweet and Sour Lapu-Lapu

Thank God for our new Manang, she knows how to cook my favorite luto of Lapu-Lapu.

3rd FAVE EATS: Karioka Balls

Do you guys missed me? Haha. (asa naman ako) Sorry for missing me last weekend, ha! Medyo naging busy lang ako with my pinsans hanging out. (still hoping na na-miss niyo nga ako) Oh well, papel, "Iba talaga pag Bea-John Lloyd eh, no?" - Cholo Francisco
Iba ung tirada nang kilig sa love team nilang dalawa. Parang paputok, UST Fireworks

Karioka (Coconut Rice Balls with Brown Sugar Coating)

This one is my most recent favorite merienda. But actually I already tasted it before, however ngayon ko lang na-realize na masarap pala siya. And of course pag masarap ang isang pagkain, tiyak walang kawala yan sa'kin.

 3 yummy Karioka Balls.

2nd FAVE EATS: Kamoteng Nilubyan with Bukayo

One of the best food and my most favorite to eat, Pinoy Meriendas. These are my comfort foods.

1st FAVE EATS: Baby Back Ribs @ Old 37

Hi to you again. My Cebu trip hangover was completely past so as the lechon, halo-halo, danggit and otap down to my stomach. I don't know how many pounds or kilos I've gained but who cares, ang sarap kayang kumain. Tsaka bakasyon nga diba? You have freedom to do anything, eat anything, taste anything and try anything you want. That's freedom, man!

4th Post: La Marea Pastry Shop and Lavazza Café

I told you I still got that vacation hangover from my trip last week to Cebu. I'm still delighted in all the things I've seen in Cebu, sobrang gaganda at babait ng mga tao dito kaya sure na sure akong babalikan ko tong lugar na to.

After having breakfast at Glo Cafe, Crown Regency Plaza, that serves us and the other guests a one damn full-packed American buffet breakfast, we crave for some Cebuano desserts. Oo, nabitin pa kami sa buffet breakfast namin sa lagay na un ah kaya nakuha pa namin lumipat ng ibang café para mag-dessert.

The unsatisfied (being sarcastic) buffet eaters: Tita Ellen, Cheska, Jamie, and Just.
