SJC Chamber of Commerce, Over-all CHAMP!

Yeah!

Being part of SJCCCII (San Jose City Chamber of Commerce Industry Inc.) Badminton Team was a dream come true for me. Since SJCCCII joined the annual Inter-Agency here in our city, it's always been my dream to join them. However last year, I couldn't join them coz I was in Manila studying. Nevertheless, I was part of the team now.

SJCCC PLAYERS

1. Men's Singles: JUSTIN FRANCISCO (1st RU)
2. Ladies' Singles: YASMIN IGNACIO (Champ)
3. Men's Doubles: GIL FRANCISCO & PAOLO TALPLACIDO (Champ)
4. Ladies' Doubles: CHEENA FRANCISCO & TINA CORNEJO (Champ)
5. Mixed Doubles: JUSTIN FRANCISCO & YASMIN IGNACIO (Champ)

It's been a month long tournament full of excitement and drama. In every game, we really tried our best to win. No mercy. Palo kung palo. But of course, we still consider other players incapability to play 'no-mercy-kind-of-game'. We gave them chance to get some points. Hahaha. *yabang-laugh*

THE FINALS

Ate Tina and Ate Cheena, ladies champion

Papa and Paolo beat last year's Mens Doubles Champ. What a come back in the 2nd set, down by 4 points (16-20) and still they were able to win the match (22-20). Congrats!

A 3-set loss for me in my Singles match against the DepEd West represented by Jobet Pamintuan. I almost got it, maybe it's not my time today. Haha. But it's a one-of-a-hell match for both of us, me especially. I almost die in getting all the ball. Nabinat buong katawan ko.

WAIT FOR MY COME BACK NEXT YEAR! *yabang laugh*

BAWI AGAD. Mixed doubles Champ! Thanks to my partner, Yasmin Ignacio.

THE CELEBRATION

THE AWARDING

TEAM CHAMP, it is. Until next year Team Chamber!

Happy playing!

Trying Southeast Asian Cuisine @ Banana Leaf

Are you guys craving for some modern Malaysian, Singaporean, Thai, Indian, Vietnamese, and Indonesian cuisine? Good! Coz I've got a nice place for you.

BANANA LEAF ASIAN CAFE
Greenhills Promenade, G/F
(02) 706 3888

Good thing we're in Greenhills last Friday, me and Mama, we just bought some appraisal equipments for our newly planned business. But before doing our real business there, we first had our lunch. We're both craving for some Asian cuisine, so I suggested Banana Leaf. Talking like an expert but no, it's also my first time. :)

For starters, we had Tom Yam Kung soup (Php 198). The spicy-ness of the soup is just right for me, actually I like the sweet and spicy taste of it. Plus my favorite shrimp and mushroom, it's just perfect!

Chicken Satay (Php 128) - Boneless chicken on sticks with curry paste. I didn't like it with the curry paste, I prefer eating the chicken plain.

Thai Iced Tea (Php 85) - Definitely one of the best! I missed S.R. Thai's iced tea, it's my favorite.

Yeung Chow Rice (Php 168) - Of course, it won't be complete without our favorite rice.

Half Hainanese Chicken (Php 298) - Isn't it obvious that we love chicken? Haha. It's a steamed chicken meat with a special sauce adding a very unique taste of garlic and Szechwan. Besides from its sauce, they also provide 3 different sauces. But I only tried the black sauce that tasted like barbecue. However, Mama tried it all and she all loved it.

Sago Pudding in Thai Pandan Leaf (Php 80) - Wow! This is genius,  a very Asian kind of dessert, man. You better try this one out, trust me.

RATING: 8 of 10

Mama's Sizzling Gambas

December 2nd:

SIZZLING GAMBAS
Mama's Recipe

After devouring some meat, it is time for Mama to cook something less guilt-free dish. Seafood it is. And let's all salute her for her own recipe of Sizzling GAMBAS!

Mama should learn how to present her dish appetizing. Parang nalunod ung hipon sa gulay eh.

But despite of the not-so-pleasing look of Mama's Sizzling Gambas, haha I love you Ma, it still tastes best. It's my favorite. And I don't care how it looks like, as long as it's masarap and niluto mula sa puso. (Yown)

And then she added her old-school recipe, favorite side dish, button mushrooms & kernel corn with worcestershire sauce. Simply the best!

Mama's Sizzling Steak, 1st of December

Hey guys! What' up with you? It's already December, huh?! And what does it mean?

Yeah!

It's CHRISTMAAASSS TIME!

Exchange gifts, family reunions, Christmas parties, and hell yeah for non-stop eatings!

December 1st:

SIZZLING STEAK w/ CAMPBELL's MUSHROOM GRAVY

Did I ever told you guys that my mom is a chef wannabe? So now I am telling you. She really loves to cook, besides from eating her own recipes of course, she really cooks everything, tries anything and yes, she's good at it.

One of her favorite to cook is Sizzling Dishes

That's a tenderloin beef she got from S&R. I think it's 400 pesos for 2 large pieces of meat, enough for us 3. For the gravy, Mama used Campbell's mushroom soup and fixed it with some of her secret ingredients. Boom!

The beef is the best definition for tender and flavor. I highly recommend it to meat lovers like me. Then you can always pair it with your very own recipe of mushroom gravy, and some veggies for sidings. Feeling ko nasa I'm Angus Steakhouse kami.

The box said it all. French Truffles, Natural dusted with Cocoa Powder

These chocolate truffles are packed into two golden foil-like plastics, full-packed each. And yes, it is packed in gold because it carries a premium taste, not-your-ordinary kind of chocolate.

Although the Cocoa powder melts a bit, it still tastes oh-so fucking heavenly good

It's indeed a love at first bite.

Up to my second bite, pure chocolate love watering my mouth, non-stop.

Who says I'm done? Ah-ah, not yet. But this time, I'm licking my finger to end this fairy-tale story of eating this chocolate Truffle.

So I am back. I've never been busy this much since I am schooling. Alam mo na syempre pag college, you experience sleepless nights reviewing for the major exams (Prelims and Finals) and of course the 'the-shit', I mean the thesis which we call ours, Marketing Plan. But really, I missed being busy.

One thing that keeps me so busy right now is this newly opened business of my Mama together with her two sisters. It opened last October 30, and since then my sleeping habits became disastrous. I became nocturnal bantay sa gabi. But yeah, I'm enjoying it.

So here's our Menu:

As of the moment, we only have 2 kinds of meals, the Lugaw Varieties and the Silog Meals. But don't you worry guys, this is only an introduction for our Menu, we're still trying to work things out for the additional set of menu.

Here are some of the food I already tried, and no bias, it was all good.

Tapsilog (Php 75) - Personal favorite of mine, beef tapa with garlic rice, fried egg and atsara. This is  Mama's very own recipe.

Chixilog (Php 65) - This one is Tita Ellen's recipe; 3 pcs. chicken lollipop, garlic rice, fried egg and atsara.

Porksilog (Php 65) - Fried porkchop, garlic rice, fried egg, and of course our specialty made atsara.

Tocilog (Php 65) - Pork tocino, garlic rice, fried egg and atsara.

Of course, it won't be complete without our thirst quencher drinks. Here we have Red Iced Tea and my Tita Ogie's special Sago't Gulaman.

Red Iced Tea (Php 25)

Sago't Gulaman (Php 20)

Thank you to my friends who come and visit Kantina during its opening week. I appreciate it. Thanks guys!

Special thanks to Yasmin for being our most valued customer! :))

So guys, if you're near San Jose City area, you might wanna visit our newly opened restaurant, Kantina. And I assure you will enjoy our Pinoy na Pinoy food there. See you!
