RUN Post # 4: Coming back at Adidas KOTR 2012 16.8K Run

Runner:   17184
Event:      16.8 K
Time:       1 hour, 53 mins, & 3 secs

Btw sorry for posting this late for I have no Internet connection since Monday, DIGITEL SUCKS, that I need to write it down first on a piece of paper just to freshly remember my thoughts on this blog post. (Yeah, I have a not-so-sharp memory) Pens are still sharper than brains just so you know.

And another thing, thank you to Ate Cheena for generously sharing her super bilis na PLDT Internet to me. Without it, baka sa December ko na mai-post 'to.

Oh well here it goes. . .

ADIDAS KING OF THE ROAD 2012
@ Bonifacio Global City, Taguig
5K, 10K, 16.8K

I joined the not so usual event in marathons, the 16.8K run, an approximately 10 mile run. I do not have any idea behind this event, why's it not the usual exact half-marathon, 21K event? Bakit pa may gansal na 800 meters? Pauso lang ba 'to ng Adidas? Tell me please.

So here are some of my pictures in action!

RUN Post # 3: Adidas KOTR 2012 Race Kit

After weeks of waiting, finally I received my Adidas King of the Road 2012 race kit. Yeah!!! One week left, actually 6 days na lang, before Adidas KOTR run and still I can't improve my training. I've been on a strict training for about 2 weeks now, do not include these coming days okay, but I haven't finished 16.8K yet or even closer on my training.

On the other hand, I know that my once-every-other-day 10K training really helped me. Keeping the most comfortable pace until the end of my training, and sometimes finishing it hard with a faster pace. Oh, it just felt so gooood!

Let's take a look what's inside the kit:

A loot bag, this one is very useful to me. I can put my used shirts here after playing badminton. Hahaha. No need to bring plastics for me!

RUN Post # 2: Failed to extend for another 5K

9 days before my 16.8K Adidas King of the Road run, and I still can't improve my training. That sucks! Maybe because I'm lack of sleep (I slept almost 1:00 AM waiting for my phone's update to finish) so I can't push myself harder or maybe because I'm alone in training? But...I don't think so coz I have an iPod (my alternative running buddy) with me. In every beat of the song I'm listening there comes a strong stride from my feet pushing myself to its limit. Still I finished my usual training, a 10K run with a time of 59 mins

Right after I finished my 10K training.

RUN Post # 1: Training for Adidas KOTR '12, 11 days left

11 days before Adidas KOTR 2012, and I can't stop my feet from training. Running myself for approximately 10 kilometers once every other day until Sept 30 is my program for my 16.8K run.

This will be my comeback run since last year's Unilab Run United 3 (I was ranked 553rd place out of 2191 runners) and I'm not including the Outbreak Manila in Nuvali coz it was a damn full-packed Zombie hurdles and you just fucking need to think wisely (maging LAON ka dapat) on how to outrun those shit Zombies. But really, I do enjoy that run especially when I outrun those nasty Zombies for my life, este for the medal. (buti wala ako sakit sa puso)

Just a proof for you guys to believe me that I really outrun the Zombies, and can you spot that red flag on my right (on your left of course)? That's my one last life to get that Survivor Medal. Get lost zombies.

Yamaha Run for Heroes 2011

July 03, 2011 (Sunday)
Bonifacio Global City, Taguig

Nice petiks run for me. It's been awhile since I joined a 21k run. It's been what, uhm... more than a month going two, since the last time. And I'm glad to be back on running. Ang sarap kaya mag-marathon. Parang you're losing half of your weight after running. Sobrang gaan sa feeling. Even though stressed out ang katawan at ang legs, still masarap pa rin sa pakiramdam. And the self-fulfillment after finishing a run, is just so great. It's like winning a lottery, 5 times! Kaso, it's not a cash prize. GROCERIES!!! Haha. Yeah. Lalo na pag ang sponsors ng run puro nasa food industry like Century Tuna, etc. At walang kasawa-sawang SAMPLE MEDICINES!!! At dyan nangunguna ang Unilab. But the best prize that I'm really dying for is the 21K FINISHER SHIRT and THE MEDAL!!! Up to my ears ang tuwa ko pag meron un. Wala ng sakit sakit sa paa. Yan na ang Alaxan ko!

The poster of Yamaha Run. May raffle prize na motor, sayang didn't win.

(L-R): Paolo, Tito Dong, Cholo, Me, Ian

Tito Dong and Paolo Talplacido run 5K, and Cholo, Ian and me run 21K. At start, kaming dalawa lang ni Ian ang magkasama, then maybe after some time, nakita namin si Kuya Cholo. We run in pace lang, 'coz mahirap tumakbo in sprint all the way pag long distances. Not enough training and kulang pa sa experience. Haha. We're not build to win and compete to those Kenyans who run like shit, we're built lang to finished and have a good PR. Maybe next time, competition between Kenyans and us na. Haha. In our dream!

Cholo, Ian and I, were planning to build a team. Haha pacing team lang. It's good to have running buddies during long runs. Kaya if you're interested and you want to join and run with us, just tell me. I'm telling you, IT'S REALLY FUN!

Me, after the 21K run. The medal was delayed daw kaya wala pa akong suot na medal. Too bad! Pero they promised that they'll delivered it to us, sana totoo lang. Kundi demandahan to. Di pwedeng wala akong medal.

I finished the 21K run in 2 hours, 26 minutes and 20 seconds. Not a good PR for me, pero it's good na rin having not enough training and practice. Tsaka I really enjoyed the run kasi sobrang chill lang talaga namin pero diba oh, halos 2 and a half hours lang namin kinuha. Nice na rin un.

One more thing, WALA AKONG PICTURE while running. Actually meron, pero di ko mahanap kung nasan! If ever may alam, here's my bib no, 1253, pakihanap naman oh. Sana kasi photovendo na lang ang partner ulit ng RunRio eh. Galante sa pictures un eh. Tsk. Tsk.

'Til the next run!!! :-bd

Takbo Laban sa DROGA: San Jose City LEG

I think this is the second running event/ fun run that will be conducted here in San Jose, Nueva Ecija. Syempre, parang medyo mahirap mag-organized ng mga ganitong klase ng event lalo na pag maliit lang ang isang City. Pero ang San Jose, nakapagpa-run ulit. WOW! Pero I think this is a provincial activity eh. So pwedeng-pwede nga talaga.

I'm so excited joining this running event. Syempre municipality ng San Jose ang organizer so I must join here. Dapat lang! Sa dami-dami ba naman ng run this May mas pipiliin ko pa bang tumakbo sa ibang lugar kesa dito eh andito na mismo ako ng San Jose. Oh diba? But of course, that's not the only reason why I'm very eager to join this run. I like this run because of its venue! Fresh air compared to Manila's and the view of palayans and bukids around San Jose are very nice. And of course new people that I'm going to meet there diba? Pero mukang madami naman ako makakakilala. Syempre, kababayan eh!

I already planned my work-out and training for this event. I only have two weeks to train for the half-marathon I'm going to joined. I need to lose weight on my upper body. I'm 82 kgs. now, and I'm targeting 75 kgs. Whew! I'm starting to cut those fatty and salty foods and the sweets that I'm obsessed with. Oh men! I can survive this! No chocolates? WTH! Though it's only for two weeks time, it's already prostrating me! Whew! And of course, the legs I'm working on it na!!! No pain, no gain!!!

This is my work-out plans for this week. I already started training yesterday (Monday) and it took well naman. Unfortunately today (Tuesday), I couldn't jog this morning because of PUYAT the night before. Kaya I reschedule ny Tuesday's training tomorrow (Wednesday) and so on. KAYA TO!!! =))

Happy First Year Running Anniversary!

Happy 1st Anniversary to me! I’m now officially a pro, 'di na ako newbie sa marathons.

One year had past and still I’m really into it. Parang drugs pala, na once you started it, it’s so hard to quit. And of course, I had no plans of quitting in running naman so it's not a problem getting addicted to it. It already became an element to me. Kumbaga sa dinuguan, ito ang puto ko. Kumbaga sa liver, ito ang dugo ko. At kumbaga sa inbox, ito ang text mo. Aysooos. Basta, running became a part of me na. Most of my classmates told me nga na, “Ano ba Justin, takbo ka na lang nang takbo”. And I always keep on telling them na running is really fun, that's why I keep on running and joining marathons. They haven't tried it pa kasi, kaya they really can’t tell what’s the real deal here. Sa totoo lang, sobrang ibang klaseng feeling kasi ang nararamdaman ko when I finished a race. Para ka na ring tumama ng jueteng. Basta kakaiba ang feeling. Sobrang fulfillment.

This picture was taken last March 14, 2010 @ Unilab Run for Wellness 1 2010, a RunRio organized event last year, part of the RunRio Marathon Trilogy. This was my first marathon event, and I joined the 10K. At first, I was so nervous kasi nga baka di ko matapos ang 10K. But I did it. I was timed at 1hr:8min:32sec. Nice PR (personal record) for a newbie, huh? But most of all, the best thing here was I continuously run until I reached the finish line, not stopping at all. Kahit sa mga water stations, every time I got water/ gatorade, I always jog pa rin. I never stop talaga, and that’s the spirit!

Happy running!
